CURRICULUM

The curriculum for the PLUS Program consists of 3 items. The following is a description of what is included with each:

 

1. PLUS Program Facilitators Guide

This manual will guide an advisor through the development of the peer leader program identified as the PLUS Program. Included in this manual is:

•How to identify, recruit and develop a diverse cross section of student leaders to be the PLUS Team.

•A step by step process to selecting the PLUS Team

1. A student application tempate

2. Advisor application scoring sheet

3. Sample interview questions for interview process

4. Notification Letters

5. PLUS Team Student Participation Handbook

•A detailed set of training guidelines to develop PLUS Team student leaders to facilitate dialogue forums. Includes:

1. PLUS Team Training Retreat

2. PLUS Team Facilitation

3. PLUS Forum Preparation and Implementation


2. PLUS Program Activities Manual

This manual will supply schools with an ongoing curriculum of activity based lesson plans to implement year round. Includes:

1. Entire school activities which include having students engage in the art of music, poetry, photography, drawing, and writing.

2. Lunchtime activities that bring students together, rather than competing.

3. A Step by Step process to implement an academic based forum for a targeted student population. This forum is based on strengths and choices of the individual.

 

3. PLUS Program Disc of Appendixes

This disc compliments the PLUS Program Facilitators Guide and PLUS Program Activities Manual. Includes:


1. Notification letters to parents, students, media, teachers, community, and business partnerships.

2. Survey Templates

3. Students applications

4. Downloadable Logos for letterhead, flyers, notifications, etc.

5. Activity Handouts

6. Step by Step Facilitator Narratives handouts for students

7. Detailed diagrams of activity set ups

8. PLUS Program Code of Conduct student handbook
