Research

The PLUS Program is a researched based approach in education.  The PLUS Program model has been some researched at school site levels where it is currently being implemented. 

2008/2009 - PLUS Program Evaluation 50 Middle School Students - Alvord Unified School District - Riverside, CA
Randomly selected students at Loma Vista and Villegas Middle Schools, both school had implemented the PLUS Program for 2 years.  Below are answers containing either “somewhat agree,” “mostly agree,” or “fully agree” to a sample of the survey taken:

86% responded that the adults in the program could really relate
87% responded that the adults involved in the program sometimes, nearly always or always made the program worth their time
*Did anyone hit or bully you at school this year? 
74% or 37 students answered NO / 11 answered YES / 2 no responses

8 questions addressing the impact PLUS activities have on students who go through the PLUS forum process.

2003/2004 - PLUS Program piloted as a Cross-Age Mentoring Approach to Address Bullying - Rail Ranch Elementary School, Murrieta, CA
In 2003 all 4th and 5th graders went through a PLUS forum and became part of the PLUS Team. Rail Ranch saw a 61% decrease in aggressive behavior in students in Fall 2003, compared to aggressive behavior without the PLUS Program in fall 2002.

2000 - 2005 -  A Five Year Evaluation on Fights and Assaults - Murrieta Valley High School, Murrieta, Ca.
Began implementing the PLUS Program in 2000.
SUSPENSION RATES for Fights/Assaults Grades 9 – 12, per 100 students, with a 10% enrollment growth during five year time span:
2001 / 2002 - 3.2 suspensions
2005 / 2006 - 2.5 suspensions
